Gerdy Debeuckelaere is chief perfusionist at the Antwerp University Hospital, Belgium and CEO of the Perfusion Experts group. He has held various positions within the European Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (EBCP) and is currently General Secretary, member of the scientific committee and the accreditation committee. On national level, he is involved in the Education and Training Committee of the Belgian Society of ExtraCorporeal Technology (BelSECT).
Since 2022, he holds a EUSIM Simulation Instructor Level 1 degree from METS Center.
He is member of the following societies: EBCP, AmSECT, BelSECT, EACTS and EuroELSO.
After his passage at the cardiosurgical intensive care unit of the Antwerp University Hospital, Gerdy successfully finished the perfusion training program at the Leuven University, Belgium in 2004 and got his master’s degree in nursing science from the University of Antwerp in 2011.
Afterwards, he finished various management and strategy programs at different institutions: Vlerick Business School, Antwerp Management School and Harvard Online.
Since 2024, he holds a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt for the Services Industry Certificate from the Lean Six Sigma Company.
